Thor- Love And Thunder Post-Credits Actor Didn't Even Tell Their Mom About The Role

The Thor: Love and Thunder mid-credits sequence revealed a big-name actor making a surprise appearance as a major character, and now this person has shed new light on the cameo. Spoilers for Thor: Love and Thunder follows below.

Ted Lasso actor Brett Goldstein makes his MCU debut in a Love and Thunder post-credits sequence as Hercules. Zeus (Russell Crowe) is sending his son Hercules to get revenge on Thor (Chris Hemsworth) who attacked Zeus and threw the God of Thunder’s own lightning bolt through his chest. In a very quick shot, we see Goldstein as Hercules who replies to his dad, “Yes, father.”

Goldstein told Variety that he didn’t even tell his mother that he was in Love and Thunder, though he encouraged his parents to see the film.

“I didn’t tell anyone because Marvel put a chip in my neck that said, ‘If you talk about this you’re dead,'” he jokedVenir de Tragamonedas Gratis Online. “My mom and dad, I sent them a text and said, ‘I’ve just seen Thor.’ I knew it’s not the kind of film they’d see. I said, ‘You should go see it. It’s funny.'”

Goldstein’s mother texted him throughout the movie with her running commentary, the actor said, replying to his mother that she should just watch the film. In fact, Goldstein’s mom was so busy texting her son that she nearly missed his appearance.

“It gets to the end bit, where it shows Russell Crowe… My mom texts me, ‘Russell Crowe’s in it again, he’s very funny.’ I go, ‘F**king look up at the screen!'” he said.

Whether or not Goldstein’s Hercules will appear in a Marvel movie remains to be seen, and Goldstein himself maintains that he has no idea what Marvel has planned for the future.

“I truly, honestly–this isn’t me lying or being coy–know nothing,” he said. “All I know is what I did that day and that’s it. That could be it. It was a fun three seconds.”

Variety also spoke with Goldstein’s Ted Lasso co-star, Hannah Waddingham, who is among the very few people that Goldstein told about his Marvel role. She said Goldstein asked her if he should play Hercules, and she replied, “Are you mental? You’re seriously thinking that you might not play Hercules?'”

After this, Goldstein never told Waddingham that he signed on, which prompted the actress to say, “I was like, ‘You cheeky bastard.'”

Love and Thunder ends with a screen that simply states, “Thor will be back,” but whether or not the next movie will involve Hercules remains to be seen. Hemsworth has said he’ll keep coming back to play Thor as long as Marvel wants him, but also acknowledged that there is a “waning kind of enthusiasm” for Hemsworth to keep playing the role.

Love and Thunder has made $500 million worldwide so far, making it one of the year’s highest-grossing films.
