C&A announces it has paid for all pre-Covid orders placed with suppliers

The Dutch chain details having guaranteed, “payment for all pre-Covid orders which were being shipped, already produced, or in the process of production, at their original price and according to the agreed payment terms.” C&A also added that suppliers which had not yet started production of products were compensated either financially or by, “placing new orders using the raw materials already purchased.”

Back in spring, C&A had suspended its orders as a precautionary measure while its 1,400 stores in Europe were closed at the height of the health crisis. A number of C&A’s manufacturers have also been able to benefit from C&A’s financing scheme run in partnership with its bank, according to C&A.  “We have taken concrete measures to support our suppliers, in which we place great importance,” said C&A’s chief merchandise and sourcing officer Martijn van der Zeeคำพูดจาก สล็อตเว็บตรง. “We have established a close and strong relationship with them over many years. Our objective was to not abandon any of our suppliers during this global crisis.”  This support is part of the company’s social and environmental responsibility initiative which, moreover, recently released its CSR report for the year 2019. Among advances towards reducing its impact on the planet, the business affirmed that it has avoided the use of 116.00 tonnes of CO2, “thanks to a more sustainable supply of cotton and cellulose. According to the report, C&A’s carbon impact was reduced by 29% last year. The brand also reported that it has avoided the use of 1.1 billion cubic metres of water due to, “more sustainable methods of cultivation and production” by its partners. To date, two thirds of the materials used by C&A are more environmentally responsible.  “As we continue to meet the unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic, we are more convinced than ever that the fashion industry must play a crucial role in moving towards greater sustainability,” said C&As’ head of sustainability Aleix Busquets Gonzalez.The brand had launched a denim textile made entirely of recycled materials in 2019.
